Paneer Tikka


Paneer tikka recipe is an Indian popular appetizer - marinated paneer cheese,yogurt and veggies served in a spiced gravy.

INGREDIANTS


250 to 300 grams paneer (cottage cheese)
1 medium size bell pepper (yellow, green and red)
1 medium size onion

For marinade
4-5 tablespoon yogurt
3 tablespoon sattu (roasted besan)
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 
1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
1/2 teaspoon kasuri methi
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon chaat masala powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon dry mango powder
2 teaspoon kashmiri red chili powder 
3/4 teaspoon lime juice
1 to 2 tablespoon butter
3/4 teaspoon salt acc. o taste

Serving
1/2 lemon
slices of onion
Green chutney

INSTRUCTIONS:

Base Gravy


  1. Firstly whisked the thick curd till smooth in pan or bowl and add jeera powder,lemon juice, garam masala, dry mango powder, black salt, salt, chaat masala, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, 2 tablespoons sattu.
  2. Now,heat up a pan, add 2 tablespoon mustard oil. 
  3. Switch off the flame and add hot mustard oil in bowl, mix it carefully.
  4. Whisk to combine everything together.
  5. Now, add diced onion and diced bell peppers(green capsicum,yellow capsicum and red capsicum) and paneer cubes.
  6. With the help of your hands, mix well so that paneer cubes and veggies are well coated with the marinade.
Preparation for marinade

  1. Heat a pan, add 1 tablespoon ghee or butter and coat the veggies and paneer with the marinade.
  2. Place them on tawa at low to medium flame and simultaneously change the side until light golden brown colour on paneer occurs.
  3. Serve paneer tikka with green chutney and slices of onion.
