Dhaba style Kadai Paneer is a popular north Indian dish and served in every restaurant menu. Dhaba style Kadai paneer is prepared with rich cottage cheese (paneer) chunks and green bell peppers, cooked in a slow-simmered onion-tomato gravy. Dhaba style Kadai paneer is a spicy mixture of all whole garam masala powder and tomato onion gravy. Preparing this delicious recipe is quite simple and easy to make at home and it is perfect for parties and get together.

    What is Kadhai Paneer?

    Kadai paneer is prepared with rich cottage cheese (paneer) chunks and green bell peppers,spicy mixture of all whole garam masala powder cooked in a slow-simmered onion-tomato gravy.

   Difference between Kadhai Paneer and Paneer Butter Masala?  

    Any type of kadhai dish like kadhai paneer , kadhai veg etc. uses something called kadhai masala which is made by dry roasting some whole spices like coriander , cinnamon , fenugreek, black pepper etc etc.. depending on the chef. So this kadhai masala makes all the difference. Style of cooking is also different .In kadhai dishes we usually use big chunks of onion and capsicum but in butter masala we usually don't use capsicum and also gravy is very fine and smooth and creamy


     Paneer is a well known whole food as a great protein source with many essential nutrients. It is tough to imagine Indian cuisine without cottage cheese or paneer. If the non-vegetarians have their ever-so-versatile chicken, then vegetarians have for long taken pride in their most beloved 'paneer' which can blend in any dry or gravy preparation.Here are some yummy recipes among a variety of paneer dishes in Indian cuisine are

KADAI PANEER

INGREDIANTS


For frying veggies and paneer

1 tablespoon oil
250 gram paneer /cottage cheese—cut in cubes
2 meduium size onion chunks
2 medium size capsicum chunks

For gravy

1 pinch ginger
2 medium size onion roughly chopped
3 medium size tomatoes roughly chopped
2 tablespoon oil
2 Green chillies
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 bay leaf (tej patta)
1 Cinnamon stick (dalchini)
2 Green Cardamom
5-6 black pepper seeds
2 cloves
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
½ teaspoon Kasturi methi crushed

For frying veggies and paneer

  1. Take 100 gms of cottage cheese and add salt to taste and also add red chilli powder and mix it well.
  2. Now, add ½ teaspoon of lemon juice and mix well and marinade for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat up a pan, add oil and add marinated paneer cubes to shallow fry.
  4. Once golden brown,  take out in a separate bowl and keep aside.
  5. Now, fry chunks of capsicum and onion chunks and keep it aside.
For gravy
  1. Heat oil and add cumin seeds, black pepper seeds, green cardamon and cloves.
  2. Saute the whole garam masala till spices turn aromatic .
  3. Add 1 medium size sliced onion. Once it turns translucent, add ginger garlic paste. Saute it for a minute.
  4. Add roughly chopped tomato and salt.
  5. Cover with lid until it become softens.
  6. Cool down the mixture, blend into a smooth paste.
  7. Heat up a deep sauce pan, add 2 tablespoon oil, and add bayleaf and cinnamon stick.
  8. Add red chilli powder and onion tomato paste and mix well.
  9. Add coriander powder and cover with lid.
  10. Saute until it releases oil.
  11. Open the lid and add fresh cream and roasted fenugreek leaves.
  12. Once oil separates, add fried capsicum and onion. Remove Bay leaf and cinnamon stick at this time.
  13. Cover and cook for 3 minutes.
  14. Open lid and mix well, Add fried paneer and chopped coriander leaves and garam masala and mix well.
  15. Cook for 1 minute and serve with naan, roti and paratha.

    How to make dhaba style khadai paneer with step by step photo

    For frying veggies and paneer

    13. Cover and cook for 3 minutes.

    Tips:

    • Do not over fry the cottage cheese cubes.
    • You can adjust the spiciness of the dish
