Green chutney recipe|Hari chutney|Green chutney for chaat


Hari chutney gives flavoural condiment which is made from fresh mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chillies, ginger and lemon juice and some roasted cumin powder. Green chutney is prepared in almost houses. Green chutney is slightly thick with a smooth texture.We can adjust the spiciness of the green chutney by increasing or decreasing the quantities of green chilli. Green chutney serve with chaat or snacks.

INGREDIANTS



200 gm coriander leaves, roughly chopped
200 gm pudina, roughly chopped
4 green chilli, slit
1 inch ginger, roughly chopped
1 medium size tomato, roughly chopped
1 teaspoon roasted zeera powder
Salt , according to taste
2-3 ice cubes
1 ½ teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon peanuts  or Chana dal(optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Rinse ½ cup of coriander leaves and pudina each in running water and roughly chopped.
  2. Now, in a blender, take chopped coriander leaves, pudina, slit green chilli, 1 inch chopped ginger and roughly chopped tomato.
  3. Now, add 1 ½ teaspoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon peanuts, roasted zeera powder and salt and 2-3 ice cubes and grind them to make smooth chutney.
  4. Remove the chutney into a bowl and keep it aside.
  5. Serve hari chutney whenever required with chaat or snacks.

Making Hari chutney

Tips

  • Peanuts is optional. Instead of peanuts, you can also use chana dal. It gives a good taste.
  • We can adjust the spiciness of green chutney by adding less or more green chillies.
